The 9th edition of the Lednice-Valtice Music Festival is behind us.
We share the beauty of classical music and its power to inspire

The 9th edition of the Lednice-Valtice Music Festival (LVMF) took place from September 14 to October 12, 2024, as part of its main program. LVMF annually presents a fresh dramaturgy, and this year’s edition followed the theme: MUSICAL ALCHEMY IN THE FREEMASON’S GARDEN OF LEDNICE CASTLE. A prelude to this was the festival’s Prologue, held at the castle in Moravský Krumlov, which introduced the program concept for LVMF 2024 – the first thematic dramaturgical exploration of Masonic music, compositions, and stories, presented in a festival arrangement accessible to both professional and general audiences. LVMF also continues to uphold its values of solidarity with those in need, and its care for the historical musical heritage of Moravia, which is centered around modern and premiere performances of works from the Valtice music collection.

Great attention was paid to each concert, including the careful selection of works, performers, and venues. The program included eight concerts, a festival Prologue, two educational concerts for primary school students, two music-visual creative workshops for primary school students, a music-themed escape room for primary school students, two expert lectures, and an exhibition.

The 9th edition of LVMF was attended by 3,716 listeners (an increase of nearly 15% compared to 2023), of whom 1,066 were under the age of 18. The gender balance was equal. In addition to Czech audiences, LVMF annually attracts guests from Slovakia and Austria, and this year we also welcomed visitors from Mexico.

SOLIDARITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Regarding the choice of venues, it is worth mentioning that due to floods, one concert and one educational lecture had to be relocated. However, the weather conditions impacted northern Moravia more severely, completely devastating the Elementary Art School in Jeseník. In response, LVMF, in cooperation with its partner company Albaform, donated part of the proceeds from the 3rd concert to support the school and help restore its equipment, amounting to CZK 20,000. It was this 3rd concert that changed its location due to the floods. Additionally, LVMF contributed CZK 5,000 to the Korunka Velké Losiny Foundation, which supports handicapped and long-term ill children.
