PATRICIA JANEČKOVÁ – Soprano

Slovakian soprano Patricia Janečková, currently resides in Ostrava, where she studies at the Department of Vocal Studies of the University of Ostrava. She also studied opera singing at the Janáček Conservatoire before, under the mentorship of soprano Eva Dřízgová-Jirušová. Her first contact with the opera stage was at the age of nine as a member of the A. Dvořák Theater Opera Studio in Ostrava. As a ten-year old she, won the Janáček Philharmonic – Ostrava competition and had her first opportunity to sing with a symphony orchestra. In 2010, as a twelve-year old, she was the absolute winner of the Czech-Slovak TV competition Talentmania. In 2014, when sixteen years old, she was the absolute winner of the Concorso Internazionale “Musica Sacra” International singing competition in Rome.  By that, she won a scholarship to the summer singing courses in Arezzo, Italy, in 2015, where she worked under the tutelage of La Scala baritone Renato Bruson. In 2016, she was three times awarded at the Antonín Dvořák’s International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. Patricia Janečková has already performed at many gala concerts and festivals both at home and abroad, including Starry Night – Vienna, Junge Talente der Klassik – Klosterneuburg (Austria), Peter Dvorský International Music Festival – Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Terras Sem Sombra Festival – Grândola (Portugal), Smetana’s Litomyšl, Festival Les Musicales de Louvergny (France), Kežmarok (Slovakia), Talentinum 2016 and Český Krumlov International Music Festival 2016. In 2015, she was given the opportunity to debut in two opera houses in Slovakia (Košice State Theatre – The Marriage of Figaro as Barbarina, and Slovak National Theatre – The Magic Flute as Pamina). In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, she has worked with Janáček Philharmonic in Ostrava, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Via Musica! Orchestra in Bratislava, Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic in Zlín, Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc, Janáček Camerata Orchestra, Košice State Philharmonic Orchestra and Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she collaborates with Collegium Marianum (Acis and Galatea by Haendel) and FOK Prague Symphony Orchestra.

ADAM PLACHETKA – Bass-baritone

The prominent Czech bass-baritone studied at Prague Conservatoire (under Luděk Löbl) and HAMU.  After the debut at the Prague National Theatre in 2005, Adam Plachetka has returned there as Don Giovanni, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Nardo (La finta giradiniera), Argante (Rinaldo) or Guglielmo (Così fan tutte).  In September 2010, he became a member of the Ensemble at the Wiener Staatsoper and made his debut as Schaunard (La bohéme). Since then, he has performed many other roles including Melisso (Alcina), Don Giovanni, Dulcamara (L`elisir d`amore), Figaro, Guglielmo, Publio (La clemenza di Tito), Mustafà (L`Italiana in Algeri), Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Conte Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Dottor Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Paolo Albiani (Simon Boccanegra) or Riccardo Forth (I Puritani).  Adam Plachetka also regularly performs at Metropolitan Opera, New York and at the Salzburger Festspiele. His other engagements include appearances at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, Festpielhaus Baden-Baden, Glyndebourne Festival, Carnegie Hall, Deutsche Oper, Deutsche Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Lyric Opera Chicago and Houston Grand Opera.  He has given concert performances at places such as Musikverein in Vienna, Wigmore Hall in London, Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Herkulessaal in Munich, Konzerthaus in Vienna, in Stockholm, Graz, and Municipal House and Rudolfinum in Prague. He has collaborated with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, L`Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Wiener Symphoniker and with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.  He has also taken part in recordings for Arte, Arthaus Musik, Capriccio, Clasart Classics, Česká televize, Český rozhlas, Deutsche Grammophon, Mezzo, Naxos, Nibiru, Orfeo, ORF, Radioservis, Servus TV, Supraphon and Unitel Classica.  During his career, the bass-baritone has performed under conductors as Marco Armiliato, Daniel Barenboim, Mariss Jansons, Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Christian Thielemann and Franz Welser-Möst.

ONDŘEJ JURČEKA – Trumpet

At the age of 5, Ondřej Jurčeka developed his musical talent by playing the piano. Then, his father (trumpetist of Brno Philharmonic) helped him to play the trumpet. He was quite interested in this instrument, which resulted in the studies of trumpet at Brno Conservatoire. He is a laureate of many international competitions and attended many trumpet courses. Studies at Hong Kong under Reijer Dorresteijn mark an important moment in his music development. He finished his studies at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts under Jan Broda. Further, his engagements include Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlín, Brno City Theatre, National Theatre Brno or Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, he collaborates with many orchestras or chamber ensembles (currently Brno Philharmonic and Moravia Brass Band). In 2016, he participated in world premiere of “Century Dance for five different trumpets and orchestra” by Zdeněk Merta. He also featured on many CD recordings as “Concerto for trumpet and orchestra” by S. Cervetti or “Piano Concerto n. 1 for piano, trumpet and strings” by D. Shostakovich, recorded together with pianist Shiran Wang and conductor Maxim Shostakovich.

BAROCCO SEMPRE GIOVANE

“Baroque still young” is a chamber ensemble composed of top young professional musicians. It specialises in the interpretation of High Baroque works but does not shrink from performing works from other stylistic periods. The ensemble was founded in 2004 by Professor Josef Krečmer who is also its artistic director. The ensemble has already performed at many major events and has also appeared at both domestic and foreign music festivals (Prague Spring, Smetana’s Litomyšl, Brno International Music Festival, Festival Concentus Moraviae, Mitte Europa Festival, The Ohrid Summer Festival, Nitrianska Music Jar, Le Quattro Stagioni, Kammermusik um halb acht Basel, Bach Istanbul’da, etc.).  Its concerts have been broadcasted live by Czech Television, Televize Noe and Czech Radio, and recorded on CD.  They organise their own subscription series concerts. The ensemble works with leading Czech and foreign soloists including for example Jan Mráček, Václav Hudeček, Ivan Ženatý, Jana Boušková, Dagmar Pecková or Giuliano Carmignola.
