Galerie Závodný is a private gallery that opened in 2011, showcasing both Czech and international
artists. However, it primarily focuses on geometric and minimalist art and Czech artists who have
gone into exile. A large portion of the exhibited works is offered for sale, providing opportunities for
both institutions and private collectors.
The building itself seeks to respect the original historic architecture while remaining contemporary.
The simple structure seamlessly connects to the surrounding residential buildings and city walls, and
with the setback at the first floor level, it preserves the view of Mikulov Castle. The exterior walls
and roof are clad in natural limestone from the Croatian island of Brač, which is structurally similar
